Insurance Defense Attorney

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in insurance defense litigation and a proven track record of managing cases from inception to resolution. You will represent clients in a variety of matters, including personal injury, construction defects, and commercial trucking litigation, while providing expert legal counsel and strategic advice.

Key Responsibilities

Represent clients in insurance defense litigation in both state and federal courts
Manage a caseload of insurance defense matters from inception to resolution
Conduct thorough legal research and prepare legal documents including pleadings, motions, and briefs
Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients to achieve favorable outcomes
Prepare for and conduct depositions, court appearances, and oral arguments
Provide expert legal advice on matters related to general liability, products liability, and commercial property
Collaborate with clients and insurance adjusters to develop case strategies
Perform site inspections and gather evidence for case preparation
Stay current on legal developments and changes in insurance law
Utilize technology for document management and maintain a paperless workflow

Qualifications

Jurisdictional License to practice law in Canada
Minimum 5 years of experience in insurance defense litigation
Strong knowledge of personal injury, construction, and commercial trucking laws
Proven trial experience and subject matter expertise in relevant fields
Excellent negotiation skills and experience in settling complex cases
Ability to manage a diverse caseload efficiently and effectively
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience with cloud-based document management systems and technology-driven practices
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative legal team
Commitment to professional development and staying updated with industry trends
