Position Overview
The Land Use Planner is responsible for developing and implementing land use plans and policies that facilitate sustainable development and efficient land use. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders, including government agencies, developers, and community members, to ensure that land use decisions align with community goals and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research and analysis on land use, zoning, and development trends.
- Prepare land use plans, reports, and presentations for stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Engage with the community and stakeholders to gather input on land use proposals.
- Review and evaluate development proposals for compliance with zoning regulations and land use plans.
- Collaborate with other planning professionals to develop strategies for sustainable land use and development.
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of land use policies and make recommendations for improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Land Use Planning, Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in land use planning or urban planning.
- Knowledge of land use zoning and development regulations.
- AICP Certification is preferred.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
