Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Primary Casualty Underwriter to join our team. As the Primary Casualty Underwriter, you will be responsible for evaluating, analyzing, and underwriting commercial insurance policies. The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of excess casualty insurance, as well as strong analytical and decision-making skills. This is a crucial role within our organization that requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate and underwrite Primary Casualty insurance policies for commercial clients- Analyze risk factors, coverage, and terms to determine the appropriate premiums and coverage for each policy- Review and assess applications, documents, and claims to ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines and regulations- Develop and maintain relationships with retail and wholesale brokers to ensure successful partnerships- Provide guidance and support to junior underwriters and other team members- Collaborate with other departments, such as claims and risk management, to provide a comprehensive approach to underwriting- Stay updated on industry trends and changes in regulations to ensure compliance and best practices
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field - Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Primary Casualty Underwriter - In-depth knowledge of Primary casualty insurance and underwriting principles - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and underwriting software
