We are seeking a Traffic/Transportation Engineer to join our team. This position is responsible for managing the design and implementation of traffic engineering and transportation planning services throughout California with an emphasis on the San Francisco Bay Area and Northern California. We specialize in projects that create more livable streets and sustainable transportation systems while also balancing the need to maintain traffic flow.
Position Overview
The Traffic/Transportation Engineer will plan, design, and coordinate complex projects related to traffic/transportation systems. This position will utilize computer-aided design (CAD), engineering software, and computer simulations such as VISSIM, SimTraffic, and Civil 3D to manage project designs and provide engineering expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for traffic/transportation projects, including design analysis and recommendations
- Develop sketches, drawings, and plans for roadways, traffic signals, and other transportation projects
- Manage and review project designs utilizing CAD software and engineering software
- Analyze design data and use computer simulations to ensure accuracy
- Create traffic engineering reports and provide technical advice and assistance
- Develop and review cost estimates, project timelines, and implementation plans
- Ensure projects comply with safety regulations and requirements
- Communicate with project stakeholders, clients, and management
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in traffic engineering and design
- Proficient in VISSIM, SimTraffic, Civil 3D, and other transportation engineering software
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
